My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The newly refurbished room in the older part of the hotel was quiet and comfortable, providing a good night's sleep. The investment in the rooms over the last year was evident, offering all the essentials for a pleasant stay. However, the ambiance of the hotel, especially in local areas, was not very inviting, and the view from the bedrooms was a bit scruffy.
The hotel had a mix of positive and negative aspects. While the room felt cold when I arrived due to the central heating being on a timer and the price seemed high for the amenities provided, the historical building with creaky floorboards added a unique charm. The location was convenient but noisy, and the dining experience was a hit or miss. Facilities were adequate but lacked modern features.
